Industrial Training Institute (ITI) is a career oriented easy development course and it is offered in all over the India. There are 14312 Training Institutes in the country. Out of which the number of Government institute is 2204 and the rest are Private ITIs affiliated to National Council of Vocational Studies.

 The institutes offers admission to around 130  specializations. The duration of these courses are from six months to 2 years depending on the subject decided. The admission process generally starts in august every year.
Students who has passed 8th, 10th, 12th standard can apply for the Institute. This is the only eligibility criteria prescribed for admission to the ITI.

ITI Course Fee

The course fee in ITI depends upon the choice of the course. Generally, the course fee is in between INR 1000/- to INR 9000/- for ITI Engineering Trade courses whereas, for Non Engineering Course, the fee will be in between INR 3,950/- to INR 7000/-.  The fee will vary from Private Institute to Public Institute. 

Students willing to have hostel facilities will have to pay accordingly. 

ITI Admission Date

Application forms can be filled from the month of March/April/May. The admission process will start after the application submitting and the classes will commerce by August 2020.

ITI Application Procedure 2020

The application process for ITI starts every year in the month of April to July. Directorate General of Training(DGT) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE), has been making continuous efforts, to improve the quality of training in these existing Institutes and in new institutes as well. The steps being were taken in this regard include:

  • Prescribing new Affiliation Norms for ITIs for quality training.
  • Regular inspection of ITIs and de-affiliation of ITIs to weed out ITIs not conforming to the NCVT norms & standards.
  • ISO 29990 Certification of ITIs to raise the overall quality and standards.
  •  Grading of ITIs to evaluate their performance.
  • Introduction of new trades & removal of obsolete trades for industry relevance.
  • Regular up-gradation of training content of ITI curriculum as per industrial requirement.
  • Aligning the course of CTS to National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
  • Implementation of ‘Dual System of Training’ in ITIs leading to better ITI – Industry linkage.
  • Training and re-training of ITI Instructors.
